We stopped in Girdwood to grab some pizza and ice cream, and then to go for a hike on the Winner Creek Trail. The trail is part of the Iditarod Historic Trail, which is a trail system that extends across the state. The trails are those that were used by gold prospectors on dog sleds before the railroad was developed.
The forest in the area is so green, and there is moss covering practically everything in it. The creek is aquamarine blue and the water tastes pretty good! It's kind of hard to pull yourself across on the hand tram if you're just by yourself, so people on either side will often help you by pulling the rope. When Natasha and I were coming back over we went so fast that our "ride" only lasted less than 30 seconds!
