When you walk up to the picnic area at McHugh creek they have a bunch of informational signs about what to do if you're being attacked by a bear. Basically you make a lot of noise, stand your ground, always fight black bears if they try to attack you, and play dead if a grizzly bear starts to get hostile (unless it starts to eat you, in which case you should start fighting it off).

McHugh Creek
For our second stop we went to McHugh Creek because there had been some black bear and moose sightings there lately, and there was a good view of the Turnagain Arm and landscape once you pop up from the treeline. We did not see any black bears or grizzly bears or moose or belugas, but the view was still gorgeous.
