Alaska Vocab Lesson: In Town

"In town" means Anchorage.  One goes "in town" for a variety of reasons:  to visit with family, connect to another flight, etc.  When you live out here in the Bush, it usually includes picking up supplies.  People bring boxes or rubbermaid containers with them when they go "in town" and fill them each with 50 lbs of whatever they need:  things from REI, Wal-Mart, Costco.  Anchorage is 400 miles east of us and is basically accesible only by plane.
